Bengaluru: Norka Roots has launched the Norka Care health insurance scheme for expatriate Malayalis. Registration for the scheme begins on Monday (September 22) with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan formally inaugurating at a function in Thiruvananthapuram. Following the launch, applicants will be able to submit their registration online. A dedicated mobile application for enrolment will also be released.

The scheme is designed for Malayali expatriates both abroad and within India. It offers medical coverage up to ₹5 lakh and compensation of ₹10 lakh in the event of accidental death. For a family consisting of parents and two children, the annual premium is ₹13,411. Families with three children can add one more child to the coverage by paying an additional ₹4,130.

For individuals, the premium is ₹8,101. The scheme is open to persons up to 70 years of age. Cashless treatment will be available at 500 hospitals in Kerala and more than 14,000 hospitals across India.

Only those holding the Norka accident insurance-cum-identity card (NRK card) are eligible to join the health insurance scheme. However, those without an NRK card can now apply online at www.norkaroots.org.
