Ariana Grande's 'Wicked: For Good' Premiere Interrupted by Uninvited Attendee
The star of 'Wicked: For Good', Ariana Grande, was startled and briefly confronted by an uninvited attendee at the film's premiere in Singapore on Thursday. The incident occurred as Grande gracefully greeted fans along the yellow carpet. Footage shows a person leaping over a barrier and rushing towards her, wrapping an arm around her in a surprising and shocking manner.
Her co-stars, Cynthia Erivo and Michelle Yeoh, who were walking alongside her, quickly sprang into action. They bravely intervened, separating the attendee from Grande, while security personnel arrived on the scene. Social media users identified the individual responsible through an Instagram account, '@PyjamaMannas', suggesting that the same person who grabbed Grande on the red carpet was the owner of this account.
The account owner shared a video of the incident, expressing gratitude in a caption that read, 'Dear Ariana Grande, Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You.'
ABC News has contacted the account owner for further comment, but no official statement has been issued by the police yet.
'Wicked: For Good', the highly anticipated conclusion to director Jon M. Chu's two-part 'Wicked' film series, is set to be released in theaters on November 21st.
The film has generated excitement with its announcement of two new original songs for the final installment. These include 'The Girl in the Bubble', sung by Grande, and 'No Place Like Home', performed by Erivo. ABC News has reached out to representatives for both Erivo and Grande for additional comments and details.
